As an adult, I've come to relate with my dad a little bit. While you won't find me on the porch during a storm, I do sometimes find a good downpour relaxing but not when it interrupts my slumber. . It is a big change for my kids coming from Arizona. I think, from the view of your picture, that we live in the same condos or pretty dang close! I hope you get some sleep through this rain and my heart goes out to your daughter! You have some crackers there! We were lucky enough to experience a midnight storm over Penang. Wowee! I feel for your daughter, though. To quake with fear like that must be traumatic - for her and for you. Glad you have a remedy (for the daytime, anyway). We just left Thailand where I was reminded of how it was during the rainy, stormy days. I just realized that thunderstorms and lightnings were some of the things I tuned out from my memories of growing up in the Philippines.
